Kiese Laymon, 'Heavy: An American Memoir'Laymon’s novel, Long Division, was named to several Best Of lists in 2013 and his collection of autobiographical ess. Heavy is Kiese Laymon’s 2018 memoir. It won the 2019 Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Nonfiction and the LA Times Isherwood Prize for Autobiographical Prose.

Kiese Laymon is a fearless writer.
